Help: Full text

The Full text page displays the full text details of a The Gerritsen Collection document. Page images of the actual full text document are displayed on the page.

The Full text page can be accessed from the Search Results, Full citation , Browse Books, Periodical Record, My Archive and Marked List pages.

What information does the Full Text contain?

The full text page contains the following information:

  • Brief citation
    This will include a link to the full citation and, for periodical article full text, links to the periodical issue and periodical record pages.
  • List of page images within document
    This permits easy navigation within the document. Page images containing search terms are highlighted.
  • Page image
    This part of the page displays the full text as an image.
  • Print and download options
    You can download the page as a TIFF or a PDF. You can also print from the PDF.

What can I do on a Full Text page?

Save to My Archive

Store the current record in the Saved Items area of My Archive and come back to it at a later date by clicking the Save to My Archive link.

Add to Marked List

Select the Add to Marked List check box to save the document to your Marked List for the current session.

Download citation

The Download citation link takes you to a page where you can format the record for downloading to your computer.

View Page

The first 10 pages of an item will be displayed as individual links that will take you to the corresponding page. If the item has more than 10 pages, the display will show them in groups of 10 (e.g. 11-20, 21-30). Clicking on one of the groups will expand it to show the individual pages.

Links to pages that contain a hit will be highlighted. If you move your mouse over a page number that has a hit highlight a tooltip will indicate how many hits are on that page, e.g. 1 hit.

Download page as TIFF link

Click this link to save the current page as a single page B&W TIFF to a specified location. 

View as PDF link

Will open the View as PDF page so you can specify a page range or section to download.

Zoom to:

Allows you to zoom in on the page image. The drop-down menu contains the following options in this order:

  • Default (100%)
  • 200%
  • 400%

Previous/Next page

These links take you to the previous or next page image within the full text document.

Previous/Next Item in Results/Article in Issue/Section in Book

If you have come from Search Results, clicking the Previous Result link will display the previous item in the Search Results. This link will not appear if the item being viewed is the first item in the results. Clicking the Next Result link will display the next item in the Search Results. This link will not appear if the item being viewed is the last item in the results.

If you have come from Browse Periodicals, clicking the Previous Article in Issue link will go to the previous article in that issue. If it is the first article in the issue, clicking this link will go to the last article in the previous issue – thus allowing you to browse through a volume. If you reach the first article of the first issue in a volume then this link will not appear. Clicking the Next Article in Issue link will go to the next article in that issue. If it is the last article in the issue, clicking this link will go to the first article in the next issue – thus allowing you to browse through a volume. If you reach the last article of the last issue in a volume then this link will not appear.

If you have come from Browse Books, clicking the Previous Section in Book link will go to the previous section in that book – thus allowing you to browse through a book. If you reach the first section in a book then this link will not appear. Clicking the Next Section in Book link will go to the next section in that book – thus allowing you to browse through a book. If you reach the last section in a book then this link will not appear.

Durable URL for this page

You can obtain the durable URL for the page by clicking the Durable URL for this page link at the top of the page. A pop-up window will open displaying the URL; you can copy and paste it into your documents and email.
