Help: Periodical Record
Periodical record pages provide full details for a periodical as well as a navigable list of available issues. Each issue can be expanded to list the records for every available article in that issue.

What information does a Periodical Record contain?
Where available, records contain the following information:
- Periodical Title
- Publication Information
- Publication Years
- Publication Dates
- Description
- Frequency
- Reel/Fiche Number
- LC Subject Headings
- Notes
Selecting records
You can select records in Periodical Record page and transfer them to the Marked List:
- Check the Add to Marked List box within an entry to select the individual record, or check Mark/Clear all items on this page to select all the records on the current page.
The selected records will be transferred to your Marked List. Selected records, as well as having their Add to Marked List Box checked, will have a darker background colour to records that have not been selected.
To de-select records either:
- Check the Add to Marked List box within an entry
- or check theMark/Clear all items on this page to de-select all the records on the page
You can click the Marked List link to view the current entries in your Marked List at any time.
Navigating the list of issues
Below the periodical record details there is a list of all issues for the current periodical which are available in The Gerritsen Collection. You can expand each issue by clicking on the
plus icon next to it.
When you expand an issue you will see a record for each article in that issue which is available in The Gerritsen Collection. You can expand as many issues within the list of issues that you want to. If you want to close or contract an issue which is expanded simply click on the
minus icon next to it.
You can also view the list of issues in 2 different sort orders, the default view shows the most recent issue first. A link is provided to switch the list to show the oldest issue first.
Displaying the full citation for an article
To view the full record for an article in the list of issues, click the hyperlinked record title.
Displaying the full text for an article
To view the full text for an article in the list of issues, click on the
View full text link within an entry.
Additional functionality available on the Periodical Record page
- Save to My Archive
Store the periodical record in the Saved Items area of My Archive and come back to it at a later date by clicking the Save to My Archive link. - Search articles in this periodical
